COLIN HICKSON

A lengthy and illustrious career has introduced me to some amazing creative talent ( and only a few duff ones, if I’m honest ) working across agencies, production companies, post-production companies and clients alike.

I’ve had the privilege to play a small part in starting a few notable directors’ careers; Jonathan Glazer, Tommy Kuntz & Mike Maguire, Dante Ariola, Daniel Barber and Luke Scott to name a few. And as an Agency producer commissioned David Fincher’s first ever UK TV commercial, a Chanel “Egoiste” spot.

I’ve also been responsible for launching the successful careers of a fair share of Producers, Heads of Film and the odd Chief Production Officer.

Creatively, I’ve made the D&AD annual with everything from a stock footage spot, for Philips Irons, one end of the spectrum. While at the other end, I’ve produced work that is part of the permanent exhibition on display in New York’s MOMA. Heineken’s James Bond film with Daniel Craig. And the International Olympic committee Pyeongchang winter games, with its UNHCR component.

Along the way I’ve picked up numerous awards for Orange, BMW, Sega, Caffreys, ESPN, FOX, Nike, x-FM, Budget Rent a car, Levi’s, Pillion Trust, P&O, Tourism Ireland, Dacia, Heineken, IOC, and Renault to name a few.

While also judging D&AD, British Arrows, AICP, and the One Show. And from its inception I’ve been a founding sponsor of the Young Arrows Student of the Year Award.

I’ve produced several short films for the likes of Canada Goose, the band Bastille and art director Christopher Glass. Along with exec. producing the odd music video for The Avalanches, Lauren Hill and George Michael.

I’ve worked both Agency and Production company side, here and in the USA. And while at Propaganda Films in Los Angeles, was the proud recipient of Cannes Lions Palme d’Or, twice. A feat unsurpassed by any other agency producer in the world – I reckon ?
